(No image for the first time, oops)
Here we are again….This week I had a short Q&A with the man behind Indie Recommendations (whose name I won’t reveal).
He replied pretty fast and with great answers, so I won’t keep you guys waiting.
1.- Favorite bands
IR: Little Comets, Splashh, Foals, Palma Violets, Swim Deep & Peace would probably be my favourite, although as you’d guess there’s absolutely to answer with.
2.- Favorite albums
IR: In Search Of Elusive Little Comets, Echo Park (Feeder), Hats Off To The Buskers (The View), Whatever People Say, That’s What I’m Not (AM) & What’s The Story Morning Glory? (Oasis).
3.- Favorite songs/albums of 2013
IR: Favourite albums of 2013 would be any albums from my favourite bands at the moment (so Splashh, Foals, Palma Violets, Babyshambles & Peace). On top of them, Cage The Elephant’s, Swim Deep’s and Fidlar’s albums stand out, AM is a strong album, although not so deserving of the hype it’s had.
4.- Revelation artist of 2013
IR: I was impressed with The 1975’s rise having seen them in 2012, and since then they have really developed as a band, although moved to a more pop-like feel to them. JAWS, Telegram, Temples and Circa Waves should all have a strong future ahead of them with the material they’ve released so far.
5.- Best live show you’ve seen
IR: Palma Violets, the energy they put into their shows really create a spectacle and it rubs off onto the fans, creating an amazing atmosphere.
6.- In your opinion, who’s the finest singer of the 00’s?
IR: Either Kelly Jones or Tom Meighan. KJ’s vocals are very unique and are not everyone’s cup of tea, but Meighan’s in Kasabian are fantastic, and he can replicate them very well in live performances as well.
7- What is your relationship with music and why create a Twitter account for it?
IR: I’ve always enjoyed finding new music and I’ve found that a lot of people I’ve talked to haven’t heard of the bands or songs I talk about, so I thought I’d try and share music that often doesn’t reach the charts, although can often be deserving of it.
8.- As you’ve told me, you don’t play any instruments. So if you had the chance to learn 3 instruments, which would you choose?
IR: Guitar, drums or bass.
9.- Personal hero? (A musician you’d follow anywhere)
As you may see, it was definitely a short Q&A but quite productive.
You can find out more about his Twitter feed here: https://twitter.com/Indie_Recommend
By the way, he takes recommendations from others and RTs them (isn’t that just cool?).
Fun guest this week! Stay tuned, there will be many Q&As and I just might have a few surprises.
